March 11, 1988: The China Disabled Persons' Federation is established

From March 11 to March 15, 1988, the China Disabled Persons' Federation held its first national congress in Beijing and announced the establishment of the China Disabled Persons' Federation. The Party and the government later adopted a series of measures to help disabled persons. Deng Pufang was elected president of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and chairman of the executive board.
