March 7, 1927: Institute of the Wuchang Peasant Movement opens classes

The institute cultivated a group of excellent cadres leading the peasant movement who possessed knowledge of Marxism-Leninism and displayed an actual working capacity.

March 7, 1931: The Red Army issues a general order amended by Mao Zedong on local militants carrying out a guerrilla war and supporting the main forces of the Red Army to annihilate the enemy

March 7, 1948: The Linfen campaign proves victorious

Field armies of the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan area launched the Linfen campaign under the command of Xu Xiangqian. The battle lasted 18 days, killing 25,000 soldiers in the Kuomintang armies, and liberated areas in southern Shanxi.
