March 1, 1949: The All-China Students Federation is established in Beijing

March 1, 1953: The electoral law is enacted

On March 1, 1953, the "Electoral Law of National People's Congress and Local People's Congress at all Levels" was enacted. The main characteristics are the universality and equality of suffrage to allow all classes and all nationalities to have appropriate representatives in the People's Congress at all levels. The enactment of the electoral law marked a new stage of development of people's democratic politics.

March 1, 1957: The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences is set up in Beijing

March 1, 1979: The State Council increases the acquisition price for 18 types of agricultural products, including grain, oil and pigs

March 1, 1984: The CPC Central Committee and State Council transmit "a report on creating a new situation of communes and brigade enterprises", agreeing to rename the communes and brigade enterprises "township enterprises". The Council then proposed policies for the rapid development of township enterprises
