Three volunteers on behalf of the Culture Media Association of Tianjin flew to Hainan province on Thursday to help with relief efforts after the island was battered by Typhoon Rammasun last week.

The association gathered donations of 90,000 yuan ($14,400) that will be used to buy more than 5,000 cases of food and bottled water for victims.

Ting Hsin International Group, a Taiwan food and beverage producer, also donated 1,000 cases of bottled water and 500 cases of instant noodles through the association.

The donations will arrive at Haikou, capital of Hainan province, on Friday.
