Foreign exhibitors at Shenzhen high-tech fair

Foreign high-tech companies are expecting cooperation from the 14th China High-Tech Fair held in Shenzhen from Nov 16 to 21.

The German city Nuremberg sent a delegation including the leaders of the local chamber of commerce and industry and its university president to introduce cooperation opportunities in the fields of clean energy, new materials, automobiles and logistics.

Axel Eisele from the Nuremberg government introduced the supporting policies for Chinese enterprises to invest in Nuremberg in a forum on Monday morning. They include the offer that Chinese companies that have practical business plans and have received approval from the Nuremberg government will be given an office for two to three staff free for three months. In addition, they will receive free supporting services such as tax or legal consultations up to the value of 10,500 euros ($13,455).

The Oaks Instrument (Beijing) Co Ltd, an agent company for Russian-produced geophysical equipment brought new-generation ground-penetrating radars to the fair.

Sandy Zhang, the company's sales director, said it's the second time the company has come to the China High-Tech Fair. It is looking for potential buyers of their products from Chinese highway and railway construction companies or municipal governments.

She said it's a good opportunity to promote the company and set up initial contacts.

Zhang suggested the fair should be more specialized and divided by sectors, not by countries or regions.

The German company WIOSUN brought solar modules and clean energy technology.

Christoph Bieg, public relations manager for the company, said it learned about the fair from the Bavarian government and came with a Bavarian delegation. He said it has two Indian customers who have shown an intention to buy their products in the last two days.

The high-tech fair is an annual event led by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and organized by the Shenzhen government.
