The ninth China International Gallery Exposition (CIGE 2012) staged a preview at the Exhibition Hall of the China World Trade Centre in Beijing on Wednesday.

Galleries, mainly from Asia, have brought their treasured collections, including paintings, sculptures and installations, to the important Asian art gala that runs from April 12 to 15.

South Korea has more exhibitions than any other Asian country in GIGE 2012 as China and South Korea mark the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

GIGE added a new project called "Guest Country" this year and invited South Korean curator Lee Daehyung to lead a show, "Solid Illusion Beijing", which showcases multi-media artworks by outstanding South Korean artists.
