China has surpassed Japan to No 2 in the world in terms of gross domestic product (GDP). But a broad array of challenges still lies ahead for the world’s most populous and largest developing country as it enters the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015). Soaring housing prices, high inflation, widening wealth gap, food safety, health care, employment, education, social justice, just to name a few. What problems or areas do you think China should focus on in 2011 and in the next five years, and what solutions would you suggest?
