NPC to start annual session Saturday

BEIJING - The Fourth Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC), China's parliament, will open at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony, Premier Wen Jiabao will deliver the government work report, and present three documents for lawmakers to review, namely the Draft Outline of the 12th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, the plan for national economic and social development in 2011 and the central government budget for 2011.

China National Radio, China Central Television (CCTV) and China Radio International will broadcast the event live. So will major news portals, including Xinhua's www.news.cn.
