Edinburgh - One of modern cinema's greatest Chinese actresses, Maggie Cheung, received an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh on Friday.
Cheung, 46, has appeared in more than 70 films. She is renowned for her stunning performances in In the Mood for Love and Hero. She was awarded a Doctor honoris causa at the McEwan Hall.
Raised in England and Hong Kong, Maggie Cheung started her film career in 1983 and is the first Asian actress to win a prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
