Wang, speaking at the opening ceremony of the 14th Conference of Chief Justices of Asia and the Pacific, noted that with the rapid development of regional economies, judicial exchanges and cooperation have been gaining momentum in recent years.

Yet in the current world, judiciaries across the region are faced with unprecedented challenges and have to work more closely together to meet the new expectations of the peoples, said Wang, president of the Supreme People's Court.

Noting that China has achieved remarkable progress in the legislative and judicial domains in recent decades, Wang said that his country's judicial establishment has been constantly learning from the experiences of its foreign counterparts while maintaining its own features according to Chinese realities.

"We are willing to join other judicial professionals in the Asia-Pacific region to continuously strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperation" in order to enhance regional peace, prosperity and harmony, Wang said.
