Chengdu, now one of the fastest growing cities in the world, earned high praise from a recently released 2011 China Investment White House published by the American Chamber of Commerce in China.

The report, released June 4, will be delivered to the White House soon. The annual report is reportedly considered as part of the decision-making process the United States undergoes to determine its economic policy toward China. The recently published White Paper has a special chapter on business environments in Chengdu.

Wang Xiaodong, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China, said the 2011 edition of the annual White Paper, the most important policy document of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, supplies authoritative comments. This year's White Paper contains a chapter on major developments in Chengdu and Chongqing. It elaborates on the development and specific problems in the two cities and includes suggestions for various business sectors.

The White Paper describes in details the rapid growth in hotels, tourism, logistics, real estate, information technology, education, banks, manufacturing and direct selling in Chengdu.

Jointly written by US-funded member companies from various industrial sectors, the White Paper describes experiences and challenges of foreign companies doing business in China.

The authors of the report stated that Chengdu's municipal government is very supportive of economic development and is working to perfect related services. The report adds that the city should enhance coordination and cohesion among some government departments.
