About 10,000 official cars in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, will all be equipped with GPS before the end of August, to monitor whether the cars are being used for private affairs.

The total cost is about 16.5 million yuan ($2.6 million) and it will be covered by the cars budget of the government departments.

"If any private use is found, the car will be stopped," said Yan Cuifang, the deputy secretary of the commission for discipline inspection of the CPC of Guangzhou.
