University bans include kissing in public

A university in East China is asking students to "behave well" and promising rewards for students who snitch on the rule breakers.

The Taizhou campus of Nanjing Normal University said in a statement, "A campus task force is established to supervise uncivilized behaviors, such as lovers hugging or kissing publicly, smoking, spitting and littering."

The task force will take photos of those challenging the rules and punish them with a warning or by canceling credit hours.

"Students are also encouraged to watch out for their schoolmates, take photos, and send them to a designated email, and they may get rewards."

Students at the university are concerned that the measures are an invasion of privacy. But a teacher surnamed Zheng, who is in charge of the cleanup campaign, said that it was not a formal notice and the university didn't permit photographing without permission.
