Hu meets Spanish PM on bilateral ties

SANYA- Chinese President Hu Jintao met Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero on Thursday in China's southern resort city of Sanya.

Zapatero is in Sanya to attend the opening ceremony of the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) slated for Friday.

Since China and Spain set up diplomatic ties 38 years ago, the two countries have expanded cooperation in the sectors of economy, trade, science and technology, and culture. The two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2005.
