CHONGQING- Li Tangtang, former vice chairman of northwestern China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, stood trial Tuesday on bribery charges.

Li, 56, illegally helped 14 people seek profits by way of real estate development projects, corporate land use approvals, project contracts and job arrangements, prosecutors say.
He took office as vice chairman of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region in May 2008. He has also served as Shaanxi's vice governor.
Li was suspended from his post in October 2009 and was stripped of his post and Party membership last month.
Chongqing's Fifth Intermediate People's Court is handling the case and will announce the verdict soon.
