The man, Xu Changlin, works at a food trade company and tests the radiation levels in their goods every day. He and his colleagues used the company's professional equipment to test Nanjing's radiation.

At first Xu just told his relatives and friends that Nanjing was safe, but many people began calling him for more information, so he started posting the results on his micro blog.

According to Xu's tests, Nanjing's radiation levels are safe. Xu said that if he finds otherwise, he would do more research before publishing the results, for fear of causing panic.
