Thailand launch of China Daily Asia Weekly, China Daily Asia Leadership Roundtable

Bangkok, Thailand - China Daily, the national English-language daily of China, will officially launch its new Asia edition, China Daily Asia Weekly, together with the second Asia Leadership Roundtable, at an inauguration ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday.

Minister of Science and Technology of the Kingdom of Thailand Dr. Virachai Viramettekul and Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand Guan Mu will officiate at the ceremonyWednesday evening at the Bangkok Four Season Hotel. More than 120 government officials, businessmen and representatives of the media from the Chinese mainland, Thailand and Hong Kong are expected to attend.

The 24-page China Daily Asia Weekly is published every Friday in five countries in Asia with a circulation of 70,000. It aims to increase the number to 120,000 by the end of the year, which will make it the most widely circulated pan-Asia newspaper.

China Daily is very pleased to have The Nation, the second-largest newspaper in Thailand, as co-organizer of the second Asia Leadership Roundtable, entitled China's 12th Five-Year Plan and its Partnership with ASEAN. True Visions is the strategic partner of the roundtable.

China's 12th Five Year Plan, which runs from 2011 to 2015, has just been approved by China's National People's Congress two days ago. The plan calls for increases in Chinese domestic consumption, which offers huge opportunities for exports from ASEAN and Thailand in particular, as China is already the number one importing country for Thailand exports.

Dr. Suthad Setboonsarng, the Thailand Trade Representative, together with panelists from the ADB, ZTE Technologies, ASEANAFFAIRS, etc will share their views on potential partnership between the second largest economy of the world and Thailand at the Roundtable's panel discussion.
