SHANGHAI - A calligraphy art show themed on the Book of Changes, or I Ching, one of China's classical masterpieces, was unveiled at the 800 Art Zone of Shanghai's Yangpu district on Monday.

"The show aims to introduce China's traditional culture through the traditional Chinese calligraphy art," said Cao Pugong, a calligraphist from the Shanghai Calligraphists Association, who is also a standing member of the Shanghai Institute for the Book of Changes.

As a contemporary calligraphist, Cao started his career in early 1970s, studying various calligraphy masters in ancient China, learning their different writing styles. His calligraphy works have since been exhibited home and abroad, from Hong Kong and Taiwan to Japan, South Korea and France.
