China sends specialists to NZ for quake efforts

BEIJING - The Ministry of Public Security has dispatched a team of specialists to quake-hit New Zealand to help identify bodies of quake victims, the ministry said Wednesday.

The team, consisting of five Chinese forensic specialists and experts on DNA technology, left Beijing for New Zealand Wednesday afternoon, the ministry said.

The team is sent upon the request of the New Zealand police, the ministry said.
