Residential building collapse kills 3 in C China

ZHENGZHOU - Three people died and three others were injured Thursday after a residential building under construction collapsed in Central China's Henan province, said local police authorities.

The accident happened around 3 pm, in Dazhuang village, Zhongyuan district in Zhengzhou city, the provincial capital, said a spokesman with the city's public security bureau.

Rescuers are trying to verify whether people are still trapped in the rubble, said the spokesman.

The injured are receiving medical treatment in hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation, he said.
