Postal services to cover all villages by 2015

BEIJING - China aims to have the nation's postal services cover all villages by the end of 2015, State Post Bureau director-general Ma Junsheng said Tuesday.

Ma made the remark at the bureau's annual work conference.

Ma said he expects to develop a number of postal enterprises with annual income of over 10 billion yuan ($1.51 billion) each.

Ma also said he hopes to increase postal industry revenue to 0.5 percent of gross domestic product value over the next 5 years.

Business expansion will provide 300,000 job opportunities, he added.

Ma also vowed to improve postal services in urban areas by increasing letter box coverage in residential buildings.
