MANILA - A Chinese technician working for a mining company in northern Philippines died Thursday after he was accidentally hit by a falling rock due to continuous rains, police said Friday.
The victim was identified as Chen Tehao, a technical employee of Prime Work Mining Corp., located at Himagtocon village, Camarines Sur province, said Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
"The victim was brought to the nearest hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, " Cruz told reporters.
Landslides and flash floods are being experienced in some parts of the Southeast Asian country due to continuous downpour.
