At an interview on Thursday, the chief said Pinggu will grab the chance when the Chinese government opens low-altitude airspace: "Private jets are in great demand. Pinggu will develop its general aviation industry and offer small aircrafts to aviation fans."

According to Zhang, the district government will purchase an airpark and two small aircraft production lines, and the renovation of the airpark will begin after the Chinese Spring Festival, with investment estimated at 200 to 300 million yuan ($45.25 million). "Aviation fans will be able to buy and park small aircrafts in Pinggu. It will also establish an aviation club," said Zhang.
