18.6% of college students in Wuhan smokers

About 18.6 percent of students in universities in Wuhan have become smokers, a survey involving 349 students conducted on Jan 5 said.

The frustration and pressures in their life and need to communicate with others are blamed for leading to their addiction in smoking.

Xiao Li (not his real name), a senior student in Hubei University said "A pack of cigarettes is my routine everyday. I began smoking 6 years ago when I was in senior high school. Without smoking, I feel something wrong in my life, though cigarettes cost one third of my spending every month."
