Egyptian Gazette: China calls on US to mend fences 07/03
Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi reiterated China's criticism of US arms sales to Taiwan and President Barack Obama's meeting last month with the Dalai Lama but appeared to leave the door open for the two sides to mend fences.
Stressing that a harmonious relationship was vital to both sides and to the world, Yang added "we hope the United States will work with us in a joint effort toward this end."

Hi, dear Chinese friends, I'm a Chinese language tour guide in Cairo. I congratulate myself that I was a Chinese language major at the university, which helped me to find such a respectable job here. I have several groups of Chinese travelers every month and can make a very decent income thanks to my language ability. I found those Chinese tourists are very friendly, generous and kind. They are eager to learn as much as possible about my country and our long history. Just like China, Egypt has a time-honored culture and is now a developing country. I know from my travel groups that China is going to hold the annual NPC and CPPCC sessions. Wish these two sessions will aid you to better your life in the future. Finally, I sincerely hope our nation can work hard to be a modern country, and be a friend of China forever. Come to visit Egypt!
