A 14-year-old girl left her family for three days after fighting with her parents over their decision to buy a Japanese car in Kai county, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, the local newspaper Kaizhou Daily reported.

On hearing her parents' intention to buy a Japanese brand Honda on Nov 12, Tingting voiced her objection, trying to talk them out of the idea.

"I strongly disagree about buying a Japanese car, which is a conduct of no dignity. Only one made in China is acceptable," she said.

After being unable to change her parents' mind, a furious Tingting chose to move out to her friend's home, saying her parents didn't care about politics.

The incident ended when her parents changed their purchase plan and apologized to their daughter.
