CPC readies to meet challenges
The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee vowed to build and manage the Party more efficiently in today's fast-changing times.
A communiqu issued at the end of the four-day Fourth Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee also promised to expand and deepen intra-Party democracy, fight corruption more vigorously, intensify economic development and crack down on ethnic separatist activities.
Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presented a work report at the session, which was also attended by members of the 17th CPC National Congress, who are in charge of Party affairs at the grassroots level, and experts and scholars. [Full story]

CPC session adopts decision on rural reform
The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Sunday approved a decision on major issues concerning rural reform and development at the close of a four-day plenum.
Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a work report at the third Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee, which was held from Oct 9 to 12 in Beijing.
The country was facing challenges in its rural development and reform, but it would firmly push forward the work, said the communique issued after the plenum. [Full story]

CPC resolution says government reform 'imperative'
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has said that pursuing further administrative reform is "imperative" for the building of a service-oriented, responsible, law-respecting and clean government.
The CPC National Committee made public a resolution titled "Opinions on deepening reform of the administrative system", which was adopted by the 17th CPC Central Committee at its second plenary session on Feb 27.
The resolution will be handed over for debate to the First Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC), due to open on Wednesday. [Full story]

New CPC Politburo holds 1st plenary session
The Political Bureau of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held its first plenary session on Tuesday to arrange the implementation of the Party's policies established in the 17th CPC National Congress.
The meeting underlined that the the most important task for the Party after the congress is to publicize and implement spirit of the 17th CPC National Congress.
Presided over by Hu Jintao who remains head of the CPC Central Committee, the meeting called for all party members to be fully engaged in realizing Party's objectives established in the congress. [Full story]
