China opens academy to train disciplinary officials

BEIJING -- A senior Chinese leader in charge of anti-corruption efforts Monday called for the training of more capable anti-graft officials, to strengthen the Party's fight against corruption.

He Guoqiang, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said when inspecting the newly-opened China Academy of Supervision and Discipline Inspection the school will play an important role in training disciplinary officials and enhancing anti-corruption work.

He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, urged efforts to strengthen the education of disciplinary officials' convictions and faiths.

He said "the moral line of defense" of CPC members should be strengthened to ensure there is no "wavering when dealing with corruption."

He said international anti-corruption exchange and cooperation will be enhanced to support domestic anti-corruption practice.
