SYDNEY - The Shanghai family who won an Australian holiday, will spend the next week in Queensland, getting a taste of the sunshine state lifestyle when they arrive on Thursday.

As part of a "Sunshine Exchange" promotion with Tourism Queensland, the lucky winning family of three, Albert and Violet Jiang and their 4-year-old son Kevin, will travel around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, followed by a reporter from the Shanghai Morning Post who is covering their experience in Australia.

On Friday they will spend time with a Brisbane family who won a trip to Shanghai in August.

Before leaving China Jiang said his family found it hard to comprehend the space Australians have.

Queensland State Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor said the campaign was a great opportunity to promote Queensland in the fast growing Chinese market.

"China is an international market with incredible potential for growth in Queensland and we hope this campaign will help to place our state in the limelight as a top holiday destination," he said.
