HK records over 300,000 arrivals on October 5

Hong Kong - The number of visitors entering Hong Kong on October 5 continued to drop while that of departure was on the rise, according to statistics provided by the city's Immigration Department on Wednesday.

Over 300,000 people entered the city through various control points on October 5, down about 40,000 from the previous day. As for departure, the number was nearly 350,000.

Most arrivals made their way to the city through Lo Wu, an overland port linking Shenzhen, in which some 110,000 were recorded. The second busiest point was the airport which received over 45,000 passengers.

Some 2.22 million people had visited Hong Kong since September 30, the day before the National Day. The highest arrival number was seen on October 3 at over 470,000.
