Seven killed in road accident in E China

NANCHANG - Seven people were burnt to death after a car they were riding crashed into a road circular island and caught fire in East China's Jiangxi province early Sunday, local authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 00:28 am on the No 320 national highway near Gao'an city, Jiangxi, said a statement released by the city government.

The car was heading from Gao'an to Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi province. It was not immediately known why the car had lost the control and crashed.

Police were still investigating the cause of the accident.
