Tech Top to shine worldwide with GE Lighting

GE Lighting has teamed up with a Chinese private hi-tech enterprise in east China's Shandong province in producing cost-effective and energy-saving light-emitting diode (LED) products.

The American multinational company signed on Monday a strategy cooperation agreement with Dongying Tech Top Opto-Electronics Technology Co Ltd, with the aim of building a global leader in the LED industry and contributing to the construction of a green Yellow River delta.

Zhang Jianhua, deputy Party secretary and mayor of Dongying, said building the Yellow River Delta, where Tech Top is located, into a high-efficient eco-economic zone is a national strategy, and it is necessary to develop high-end industries and cooperate with technology-competent multinational corporations. The agreement between GE Lighting and Tech Top is an example of such cooperation.

Seeing China as the "second home" of GE, James Gosart, president and CEO of GE Lighting Asia Pacific, said the agreement was the "first milestone" in its cooperation with Tech Top and GE is committed to working closely with the company to promote energy-saving and green technology and products.

Gosart said LED lighting will have a promising future in China and the world, as the country is on the move to save energy and construct an environmentally-friendly country.

Gao Yi, vice mayor of Dongying, welcomed GE to choose a Dongying-based hi-tech firm to be its partner and said that the partnership between GE and Tech Top will help build Dongying into a "city of green lighting technology" and help the development of the city's LED industry and related sectors.

Adam Zeng, general manager of Tech Top, said the partnership with GE will be a win-win arrangement for both sides, and said he is confident the cooperation will help build Tech Top a leading enterprise in the LED industry in China and the world.

LED lighting has a huge application potential for outdoor lighting, such as street lamps, urban night scenes, commercial facilities and even home applications.

Tech Top is a private high-tech company specializing in the research and development, manufacturing, installation, sales and construction of the LED and solar products, including the LED solid lighting, semiconductor lighting products，solar cells, chips and modules.
