Heavy rains are expected to affect southern and eastern Sichuan Province, western regions of Yunnan, Hubei, Guizhou and Hunan provinces, southern areas of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces, northern areas of Henan, Hebei and Shandong provinces, and southeastern parts of Liaoning and Jilin provinces,

Rains will also strike southern regions of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangdong Province, and some areas of Hainan Province, according to the NMC's forecast.

Downpour will pound some areas in the eastern parts of Sichuan Basin, southeastern Shanxi, and eastern Liaoning Province, the NMC said.

It urges local governments to step up measures to prevent possible landslide and mud-rock flow triggered by rain storms.
