More than 82 percent of 2,064 people say they feel marginalized in the rapidly changing society, a survey conducted by People’s Tribune discovered, sina.com.cn reported Monday.
As for the reason why these people feel marginalized, 37.7 percent say it is because of the inequality of opportunities resulting from industries, systems and policies, such as the country’s household registration; 36.4 percent say it is due to the sharp contrast between the rich and poor; 16.4 percent think factors like personal personalities and ability lead to the feeling.
However, some reader thought the questionnaire is not properly designed to present complex social conditions.
People’s Tribune is a magazine published by People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China. The organizer didn't say how long the survey, which only started Monday, will last.
