The world's most aged professor, 110-year-old biochemist and nutritionist Zheng Ji, passed away at his home in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu, at 6:20 pm on Thursday, Nanjing-based Contemporary Express reported.

Professor Zheng from Nanjing University was the pioneer scientist for the study of biochemistry in China and the establisher of Chinese nutriology. He is highly respected for his persistence in scientific research despite his age and his experiences in the anti-aging field.

Born in 1900, Zheng once maintained the record for being the world's most aged scholar.
