The second generation of Chinese astronauts, consisting of five men and two women, will not carry out manned space flight missions until they complete another three to four years of systematic training, Guangzhou Daily reported Monday.
The seven astronauts, all elites recruited from China's air force, with strong psychological and physical qualities, are continuing their training, which started this year, including physical exercises, basic theories, psychology training and acclimatization training, an instructor at the Astronaut Center of China told Guangzhou Daily.
The requirements for the two female astronauts are the same as for the male astronauts, except the physical training.
