The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) urged all price bureaus to get responsible first-hand price statistics, the xinhuanet.com reported today.

Some price bureau officials were found to report untrue statistical information they collected on the Internet or fabricated using previous numbers, said Zhou Wangjun, deputy director of Price Department of NDRC.

"Those fake statistics affect policy making and the government won't tolerate such behaviors," added Zhou.

The NDRC holds a training session Tuesday in Haikou, Hainan province, on the price monitoring system, which reflects the price change in grain, oil, pork and swine, the reports said.
