A Beijing citizen has been awarded 100,000 yuan ($14,678) for providing information on corruption, the highest single award prize in the city's history, Beijing Times reported Wednesday.
Li Su (assumed name), told officers of Beijing's law enforcement groups that Yuan, a senior manager with a national state-owned enterprise was involved in corruption.
Officers discovered he had embezzled 8.95 million yuan through false financial information with the help of Gao, the owner of a private company from March in 2003 to October in 2007.
All of the illicit money has been recovered. And both the criminals received life sentence in court on February 8, 2010.
