BEIJING - Zhang Jingli, deputy director of China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), has been sacked and is under investigation for suspected disciplinary violations, sources with the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said here Sunday.

Zhang, 55, became deputy director of SFDA in 2003. He served on the same post when former SFDA director Zheng Xiaoyu was executed in 2007 for taking 6.49 million yuan in bribes and dereliction of duty.
