Two students die on first day of Gaokao

Two candidates of the national college entrance exam, or Gaokao, died Monday, the first day of the two-day exam, in Central China's Hubei province, cnhubei.com reported Tuesday.

A male student, who had failed the annual test before, jumped to his death from a hospital building about 7 am on Monday in the province's Guangshui city.

In Ezhou city, a female student died early Monday, the city's publicity department said. Police have begun investigating the incident, according to the report.
