Father killed by falling pipe on exam day

A steel pipe fell and smashed a man to death at Taiji street in Fuling district, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on June 7, 2010, the Nen.com.cn reported.

The tragedy happened when the man, surnamed Huang, was on his way home about 8:40 am, after seeing his child off to take the national college entrance exam. He was killed at the scene, according to a witness.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
