MACAO - Macao's Judiciary Police has arrested an official of Macao's Public Security Forces (FSM) for allegedly extorting his ex-girlfriend to pay 100,000 yuan (about $15,000) for her intimate photos, the Macao Post Daily reported on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old suspect, surnamed Lei, was apprehended after the victim from Beijing and her husband from Belgium reported to local police earlier this month that her ex-boyfriend was suspected of having released a number of intimate photos of the couple on the Internet, causing psychological trauma to her and her husband, the daily quoted a Judiciary Police spokesman as saying.
According to the spokesman, the intimate photos include naked poses of the victim and her husband.
The suspect allegedly threatened the victim that if she failed to pay the money he demanded, something she did not want to see would happen, the spokesman said.
However, the spokesman did not say for which branch of the FSM the suspect was working.
Macao's FSM comprises the Public Security Police Force, Judiciary Police, Macao Prison, Fire Service, and Macao Public Security Forces Academy.
The suspect has been transferred to Macao's Public Prosecution for further investigation.
