Taiwan opposition leader re-elected as party chief

TAIPEI - Taiwan's main opposition party, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), said on Sunday its chairwoman Tsai Ing-wen has won a re-election as party chief.

The DPP said in a statement on its website Tsai won the election by taking over 90.29 percent of the votes, and the final official result would be announced on May 25.
