A staggering 77.5 percent of people would love to have two kids if permitted, with only 18.3 percent saying they would like to have one offspring and 1.6 percent not considering children, a survey organized by China Youth Daily and sina.com, one of the biggest news portals in China last week shows.
Meanwhile, 27.6 years old is thought to be the most ideal age to have a baby, according to the 6183 participants of the survey.
The survey has also found 56.9 percent of people would like to have kids before 30 years old, while 26.7 percent prefer after 30.
A sound family budget, 67.6 percent, a stable job for at least one partner, 60.7 percent, and having an apartment, 43.3 percent, are the three most important requirements for couples to prepare to have a baby, the survey says.
