Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Monday that China will import more US products.

Wen made the remarks while meeting with international delegates at the 2010 China Development Forum, held in Beijing.

He said China does not blindly seek a trade surplus and, to the contrary, wants to achieve a balance of international payments.

"China will manage to realize a balance of international trade," Wen said. "This is the aim we strive to achieve in the long run."

Wen also expressed his opposition to trade and currency wars.

"I call for all countries and responsible businessmen in the world to oppose trade and currency wars," he was quoted as saying.

When commenting on the Sino-US trade conflicts, the premier said the second round of the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue to be held in May "will be a good chance for the two sides to solve disputes and problems."
