Pension for enterprise retirees up 10% in 2010: Premier

China will raise the pension for enterprise retirees by 10% in 2010, Premier Wen Jiabao said in his government report.
"Governments at all levels should increase investment in social security and the central government plans to put 318.5 billion yuan into the social security fund this year," Wen said.
The basic pension payment for enterprise retirees stood at 120 yuan ($17.57) a month per person in 2009 and it is the fifth consecutive year since 2005 that China has raised the basic pension payments for enterprises retirees.
