Top legislator delivers NPC Standing Committee work report

China's top legislator Wu Bangguo delivered a work report of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) Monday morning to the parliament's annual session.

The highlights of Wu's report include the overall work of 2008, the earthquake relief and post-quake reconstruction, promoting economic development, and also resolving problems affecting people's well-being, as well as foreign contacts and party leadership.

Chinese leaders Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang attended the meeting.
