The operator of China's National Stadium, or the "Bird's Nest", announced Saturday that 25,000 tons of snow for the Beijing Olympic stadium's first snow season carnival were made from harmless intermediate water, the Beijing News reported.

The quality of intermediate water is above the level of tap water and as the snow melts, the water can be recycled to flush toilets and irrigate landscapes, said Xiang Jun, a deputy manager of the "Bird's Nest".

Dubbed the biggest ski park in urban Beijing, the one in the "Bird's Nest" occupies 57,000 square meters with half of the center zone covered with snow. A six-degree ski slope, 80 m in length, will be installed. A "snow mountain" in the south part of the stadium has formed into shape. Another 100m long, 10m high expertise ski slope stands at the free ski zone, the report said.
