Hit-and-run driver crashes into pole, dies

A man in Yan'an, Shaanxi province, died when he rammed his car into a pole minutes after running over a pedestrian, injuring him seriously, and fleeing the scene last Saturday night.

Three others in the car were injured.

The unnamed driver was speeding after he accidentally hit a man crossing the road, police said.

There were three others in the car who escaped with minor injuries.
