Woman to pay for child born of mystery father

A woman in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, was ordered to pay her ex-husband 28,500 yuan ($4,170) in compensation after it was proved another man was the father of the couple's daughter.

After getting married in 2004, Liu's wife gave birth to a girl in April 2006, following which the marriage started falling apart.

The couple got divorced in February this year. A subsequent DNA test confirmed the 3-year-old girl was not Liu's daughter.

Liu dragged his ex-wife to court for fraud and won the lawsuit.
